Managing €160bn (as at 31.03.2013) on behalf of banking networks, third-party distributors, private banks, platforms and fund selectors, Amundi has made it part of its strategic development plan to strengthen its relationships with external distributors globally. To achieve this goal, the group is creating a dedicated global business line.

Amundi today announced the signing of an agreement to acquire Smith Breeden Associates. Durham, NC-based Smith Breeden Associates, with an AUM of $6.4 billion et end of april 2013, is an institutional asset management firm specializing in the major U.S. fixed income sectors.

2012 was a successful year for Amundi ETF, one of Europe’s leading ETF providers, with net inflows recorded of EUR 1.4 billion over the year, representing growth in assets under management of 37%.

In line with its development strategy for external distributors, Amundi is strengthening its distribution business with the appointment of Christian Pellis, Global Head of External Distribution.

As part of its “NextGen” Strategies range¹, Amundi has added a new fund to its Minimum Variance strategy with the launch of Amundi Funds Equity Global Minimum Variance, a sub-fund of the Luxembourg SICAV Amundi Funds.

Amundi, asset management Number One in Europe, added 4 more years to its sponsoring of the Alstom Open de France. The partnership will then operate until 2016, year of the event 100th venue.

Amundi is strengthening its sales team in Benelux with the arrival of Jovan Ponsioen, who takes on the role of Head of Distribution for Benelux, following the appointment of Ernst Osinga as Business Development Manager Benelux in July this year.
