2012 started with fairly positive economic news and a clear easing of tensions on all fronts. Standard and Poor’s announcements had little impact, aside maybe for Portugal, and the European Central Bank’s intervention at the end of December managed to reassure the markets. Therefore, all assets benefitted from the decline in risk aversion: investors returning to bond and equity markets, whilst states were finally able to reduce the rate of new debt issues. But are the fall in volatility and the rise in markets sustainable? What stance do Amundi’s management teams take? This video with Alain Pitous, Deputy CIO of Amundi Group, explains all.
