  • Markets: After the release of the minutes from the December US Federal Reserve’s (US Fed) monetary policy meeting (FOMC meeting), bond yields rose sharply. Stock markets were mainly negative this week. European markets over performed other regions. In the G10 space, only the British pound appreciated versus the US dollar this week.
  • United States: The Institute for Supply Management (ISM) manufacturing index fell to 58.7 in December while the services gauge posted a huge drop on the spread of Omicron.
  • Eurozone: The final composite Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) declined to 53.3 in December (from 55.4 in November).
