We are pleased to announce that Amundi has been appointed to be the investment manager of a new Asia Climate Bond strategy managed by AMX by Carne.
Launched on 1 March 2023, the strategy with an initial capital of $203 million, invests in fixed-income instruments selected according to the AIIB-Amundi Climate Change Investment Framework (CCIF), co-developed by AIIB and Amundi, and endorsed by the Climate Bonds Initiative (CBI). This first-of-its-kind framework provides an effective investment methodology that holistically assesses climate change risks and opportunities in line with the three objectives of the Paris Agreement at the issuer-level.
AIIB and Amundi launched the inaugural Asian Climate Bond strategy in 2021 aiming to accelerate climate actions and address the underdevelopment of the climate bond financing market. The strategy recorded a total of over 317,403 tons of CO2 equivalent (tCO2e) emissions avoided in 2021 and 2022.
