The Covid-19 crisis has caused significant disruption in private markets, but investor appetite for real assets stays unabated. Indeed, real assets are key in the strategic asset allocation given their portfolio diversifier and volatility dampener nature. Real assets should be seen as a long-term investment and as such, investors should not rush tactically into private markets and be selective in order to capture the different premiums embedded in real asset investing.

Preqin and Amundi publish 2020 annual Alternative Assets in Europe report

Published in partnership with Amundi for the third consecutive year, the Preqin 2020 Alternative Assets in Europe report looks back at developments in the alternative assets industry in the main European markets and the determining factors behind them.

According to the report, the European alternative assets market has surpassed the €2 trillion threshold for the first time, growing by 44% between December 2015 and December 2019, despite the significant disruptions linked to the COVID-19 pandemic.
